Beautiful, Modest Wedding Gown find!

I’m always on the look out for a beautiful wedding dress that is actually in style, elegant and above all MODEST.  Now, don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of pretty modest wedding dresses out there.  The thing is I just feel like they’re all pretty much the same.  Stiff satin, huge skirt and cap sleeves.  If you want something different you pretty much have to go custom made.

I was so excited when I got my new Jcrew catalog in the mail.  Actually, I was a little jealous.  The featured wedding dress had SLEEVES!!!  How could that be? .  I went right to the computer to see their new wedding gowns and sure enough, two of their new gowns have sleeves AND look AMAZING!  I almost found myself getting sad that I’ve already done the whole wedding dress thing!  Why couldn’t these be around when I needed them!

So get this, the top dress on this article is made of a medium weight silk- flowy enough to give you a beautifully elegant look, but not so clingy to be too revealing to each and every curve.  All it would take to make it temple ready is to put a little bit of lace around the neckline.  Sigh.  I’m so jealous of whoever gets to wear this dress on their wedding day!  The best part of it- this dress costs $395!  Here’s the link for more information; http://www.jcrew.com/

The champane colored dress is, I’m afraid, not nearly as affordable- going for $1,200. (here’s the link to it http://www.jcrew.com/AST/ ) But it is a beautiful look and I just wanted to show it as an example of a dress with sleeves that actually look like they’re supposed to be on the dress instead of added as an after thought!  I’ll be looking into some information on affordable custom dress makers in the area for any of you who love this look but can’t afford it.  Maybe you can find someone who can make it for less!

  1. Very beautiful gown! Modest is Hottest! It’s great to see that there are still modest bridal gowns and dresses around now days. Some of the dresses I see are too revealing. Keeping things modest is the most beautiful way to go.
