It is important to like your wedding cake. Of course we all want the cake to look good, but it needs to taste good too and in my experience that can be a tricky thing to pull off. I still remember when my brother got married when I was just a kid. There was so much leftover cake (with raspberry filling) that it ended up in our freezer for longer than I would like to admit. Because I was a kid and was constantly craving sugar in any form, despite any lack of true flavor, I ate a piece of leftover wedding cake almost every day for weeks. I still can’t eat cake with raspberry filling to this day. Maybe if it would have been delicious to begin with I would feel differently.
The real purpose of this post is to introduce a cake vendor in the Salt Lake/Utah county areas whose cakes look delicious and beautiful enough to leave your friends and family members with pleasant memories (though I doubt there will be any leftovers, sorry)! Meet Jake from “Ganached by Jake“, an award-winning, culinary graduate whose cakes and pastries not only look gorgeous, but mouthwatering as well. I had a chance to ask Jake a little about his favorite flavors and what makes his cakes so special. In his own words…
“pastries and food are my life and all I do and have done since I was quite young”.
“Some favorites of mine would be vegan chocolate cake because it’s super easy to make, moist and always tasty even without frosting. Lately though I’m totally a sucker for citrus cake with lemon mousse and orange cream cheese frosting. It’s a simple flavor combo that tastes simply amazing!”
“Something that sets my pastries apart is that everything is 100% from scratch and I like to create something unique and custom to my clients needs and wants.
Nothing makes my day more than a client several days after they have received their order and I get an email saying how much they loved it.”
I’m having a sudden craving for something sweet. Visit Ganached by Jake for more details!
