Hines Mansion; Provo, UT

Your honeymoon is more than just a vacation together.  It’s the beginning of your marriage.  I fully believe that people should take full advantage of this time together!  Do something you’ll love and remember for the rest of your lives.

Along with that belief comes my very strong opinion to stay somewhere close by on the night of your wedding.  If you want to travel for your honeymoon that’s great- but start the day after!  You wedding day will be so full that a long car ride or plane ride will not be your best company the night after everything is over.

In that theme, I like to write about the Hines Mansion bed and breakfast.  This beautiful B&B is located in downtown Provo, so close to where so many Utah receptions are held.  They’ve taken an old mansion and decorated the whole place with antique looking furniture to make sure you look feel you’ve walked right into that old, romantic era.

When you walk into your room, you’ll find a bottle of sparkling cider placed on ice ready for your enjoyment. Your room is complete with it’s own private bath, a two-person jetted tub, and comfortable robes for the guests.  If you venture downstairs you’ll find cakes, cookies or fruit for you to snack on along with a video and game library just in case.  The next morning you’re greeted with a full, hot breakfast.

For your honeymoon stay, you can add something a little extra to your stay at the Hines Mansion Bed and Breakfast.  Their staff can provide a bouquet of fresh flowers to be sent to your room or a special treat of strawberries and cream or a cheese and cracker platter to be waiting for you when you arrive (a nice snack when you’ve been dancing the night away!).  They can even take you on a ride in a horse drawn carriage-either for fun, or if your reception in local they’ll even come pick you up and bring your to your room!

Inn on the Creek; Midway, Utah

Inn on the Creek is renown for its elegant yet inviting atmosphere and attention to detail. With all the amenities offered at the resort, it is truly a wedding destination, where they can assist with not only your location, but all your catering, lodging, beauty and spa services, entertainment, photography, and most importantly, the coordinating. If you can dream it, they can create it!

Located in Midway, Utah this beautiful, European style Inn is surrounded in the amazing landscapes that make our state so unique and beautiful.  They offer both indoor and outdoor wedding locations.

Pricing for wedding receptions start at $1,000 and include the entire event rooms, deck and meadow with linens and seating up to 100 people. While a catering service is available, you may also bring in your own food or outside caterer if you desire.

When speaking with a representative of the Inn on the Creek, I was very impressed with their desire to help their customers create the wedding of their dreams.  In particular, as the representative told me brides are allowed to bring in their own catering service he said “Our intent is to support the brides with their weddings allow them to control the parts that are most important to them. It is nice to have the option to choose what will work the best for individual/family.”  I personally think that working with someone with that kind of respect is worth a lot!

Bed and Breakfast rooms are also available for the bride and groom (or anyone else who needs lodging for that matter!).  Because why should you waste time on the most important day of your life driving all around Utah when you can just walk upstairs!

Their rooms are completely beautiful and include jetted tubs with separate showers, televisions with VCRs, and triple sheeting. Most rooms have fireplaces, private decks and balconies. Some are over 1,100 square feet with full kitchens, Turkish bathrobes, vaulted ceilings!

Prices for their bed and breakfast rooms start at $105 per night- a great price for a B&B!

Windy Ridge; Park City Utah

Yesterday highlighted a great Park City Bed and Breakfast with a fantastic Summer rate.  Today I want to let you all in on another great Park City secret- just to further convince all of you summer brides and grooms to look into Park City as a honeymoon location.

As many of you know, Park City’s main street it full of amazing, high class restaurants.  I’ll be honest, most of them are the type of restaurants that I would love to go and experience, but will just never be able to justify the $60-$100 per person that I’d have to pay for the meal.  But their food looks SO good!

I was so excited when my aunt introduced me to Windy Ridge.  This Park City restaurant is under the same ownership as some of those big, fancy Main Street restaurants (Grappa, Chimayo, Wahso, and Ghidotti’s to be exact).  They use Windy Ridge as a bit of a test kitchen for those big, expensive retaurants- meaning you can get some of the same items offered in those super fancy places for a fration of the price. Their prices start at about $10 a plate and their menu includes items such as Halibut Florentine served with Wild Rice Pilaf and Rosemary Roasted New Potatoes.  Or Their Grilled Chicken Panini filled with grilled chicken breast, arugula, tomato and camozola cheese. (that one’s my personal favorite)

Their food is truly gourmet and their prices are good enough that you won’t feel guilty enjoying it!  Plus, in the same parking lot is their amazing bakery serving the most divine desserts I have ever tasted.  It’s the perfect way to enjoy your once in a lifetime honeymoon without breaking the bank.

The Perfect Place for a Utah Honeymoon

For those of you planning on sticking in Utah for your honeymoon, I’m going to let you in on one of the best kept secrets around- Park City.  We have an amazing city set up entirely to entertain winter visitors.  It’s full of great things to do and because it’s a city built around winter sports- all of the businesses are just begging people to come in the summer.

Take Woodside Inn for example.  This bed and breakfast is located in Park City- in fact it’s the closest B&B to Park City Mountain Resort( home of the alpine slides, a climbing wall, scenic lift rides, a Ziprider and a ton more summer activities!) The rooms at Woodside Inn include breakfast each morning of your stay and even a double jacuzzi.  In the winter their rooms with queen beds start at over $300 a night but in the summer (this is the best part!) they start at just $79!  (that’s for a weekday stay, weekend nights are still just $89!)  You can even book a suite during their summer months for just $129.

This is just one of the MANY examples of the amazing deals on bed & breakfast and hotel rates that you can find in Park City during the summer time.  The city is full of great summer activities like outdoor concerts and events on Main Street.  You’re sure to find something you’ll love doing!

Castle Creek Inn; Bed and Breakfast

This is my opinion of the perfect honeymoon location!  Located in Cottonwood Heights, Utah (close to Sandy and Midvale), Castle Creek Inn sets the perfect scene for a romantic evening.  The building itself looks and feels just like a castle complete with a grand entry way and perfectly themed dining hall.  The grounds are full of beautiful gardens and winding paths that lead to the most romantic gazebo.  It glows with white twinkle lights at night and overlooks a small waterfall.

Inside you’ll find complementary homemade snacks, sparkling cider and stemmed glasses and even a movie and game collection to bring to your room.  Each room is decorated to feel just like you’re staying in a castle and comes with a large whirlpool tub and fireplace.

In the morning you can choose to have a small breakfast brought to your room or go down into the dining hall for a larger meal.  Each option is complete with freshly made, delicious food!

Rooms currently start at $149 for weekend nights and $135 for weekdays.  They often have a good deal going on, so be sure to check out their ‘Specials‘ page!
