If you are looking to save money, schedule your wedding on a weekday or a Sunday. Vendors fill up their Fridays and Saturdays very fast but almost never fill up more than a few weekdays (Mon-Thur) a month. This gives you bargaining power because if you ask for a discount, they aren’t taking the chance of having to turn away a full priced wedding for the same date because they already booked it for you.
Some vendors already have a pricing structure for weekday weddings. You can usually find it for some photographers, reception centers, and even caterers. Be sure to not ask for a weekday discount for invitations, your dress, and maybe even your cake. The day of your wedding usually has no bearing on those types of vendors.
There are some drawbacks to having a weekday wedding. Some of your family might not be able to attend, for example. You need to decide on the day carefully, making sure to weigh the pros and cons.
