The Elegant Garden Reception
The elegant Garden Reception. Traditional. Timeless. Sure to please just about everyone who attends. I think this style of reception is a favorite among those who plan for their wedding receptions to take place in a park, backyard or really any outdoor setting.
Here are a couple fun ideas I found while browsing this style of outdoor wedding.
Top Row: These pictures thanks to BHG.com, where you can go to see all the details of this wedding featured on their site. My favorite idea can been seen in the middle picture- I love the backdrop they made for the bride and groom to stand under! They created matching backdrops for the food and the cake (the food backdrop is featured in the 2nd row). A fantastic DIY project and a VERY cheap way to get an elegant backdrop for your wedding reception, these backdrops were made with tall, iron outdoor plant hangers that can be pushed right into the ground where they need to be set up. The hangers were then wrapped in fabric to bring out the wedding colors in the yard. I personally thing it’s beautiful, and much cheaper than buying or renting a backdrop! Plus you could take down the fabric after the reception and use it to make curtains or a new dress!
Middle Row: Backdrops. Backdrops really do play a big role in a Utah wedding reception- Especially if you’re planning on having a receiving line. Even if you don’t plan to have a line, backdrops can add a special touch to the cake table, food table or really any stationary wedding set up. These are a few of my favorites that I’ve found for a garden reception- all of which are very affordable! Beginning on the left: the 3-pc. Patio Screen available at Target.com, A DIY setup inspired by BHG.com, and a unique and beautiful (my personal favorite) Wrought Iron Garden Screen also found at Target.com.
Bottom Row: A couple fantastic outdoor themed wedding favors begin this row. I LOVE the idea of handing out personalized fans to each of your guests. The fans featured are available at yourweddingstore.org, or could also be a super easy DIY project. Just print your initials onto card stock and glue it to a thick popsicle stick. Fans could also be used as place cards if you plan on having a dinner reception.
Second on this row is another great favor idea- tulip bulbs packages for each guest. These favors are available through www.plantamemory.ca, but would also be easy to put together yourself. Include bulbs in your wedding color or have several flower colors for guests to choose from.
And last of all- I just love this idea for a green themes wedding! Green apples and pears in big, glass vases fill the area with the wedding color and are the perfect theme for an outdoor wedding.
